This is a quick post providing Social, By Laws, Membership and Boat Ramp Committee updates!
First of all a HUGE thank you to Katie McCann and the Social Committee for putting together our first monthly First Friday event. There was a great turnout and lots of fun had by all! Mark your calendars for our next First Friday event which will be Friday, November 4th from 5-7.
The annual Halloween Carnival is October 29th from 4-7, there will be a jump house, pizza & nuggets, games, prizes and more! We are still looking for some volunteers to help out. If you feel like lending a small amount of your time to make this carnival great please sign up. The Sign up Genius link is in your email as well as on the Club Facebook Page. If you would like to get involved with the Social Committee please reach out to us at [email protected].
The By Laws Committee has been working hard to update our existing Constitution and By Laws. They are meeting regularly and working with a 3rd party attorney to painstakingly comb through every line and rule. We are hoping to have something to present in the next few months!
The Membership Committee has been working to find a better way to welcome new members into the club and present them with our club rules and amenities! They are also researching a way to maintain member information and automate club record keeping in one place. More updates regarding this will be presented in the next couple of months. If you are interested in welcoming new members to our club please reach out to us at [email protected].
Finally a message from the Boat Ramp Committee! The boat ramp permitting process has officially begun! We received word on October 4th that our critical line was approved by OCRM. A 30 day public notice will go out in the Post and Courier to let the community know that we are requesting a permit and give them time to voice any concerns or comments they may have. Neighbors directly next to the landing as well as across from the landing will be notified by mail about the permit request. During this time JGT will respond to any comment letters that are received.
Due to the delay with the critical line being approved (it took 5 months instead of 2-3) as well as the holidays we are looking at a 5 month permit approval process. Once the permit process has begun (after the 30 day public notice) JGT will begin the design process. When the designs are complete JGT can then work on bidding out the work and getting actual quotes. Our goal is to be ready to begin work as quickly as possible once the permit is approved. Final Permit Drawings are attached in your email.
